Monroe County Organic Management Public Information Sessions

Two Public Information Sessions were held on the Organics Management Plan (OMP) on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. A virtual meeting was held at 12 PM and an in person meeting was held at 6 PM at the MCC Brighton Campus.

Monroe County is developing an Organics Management Plan (OMP) to complement its existing Local Solid Waste Management Plan. The primary goal of the OMP is to reduce and divert organic waste from disposal, while supporting the county's existing goals for recycling, waste reduction, and reuse. Furthermore, as a certified Climate Smart Community, the County aims to further its efforts in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, aligning with Climate Action Plan (CAP).

Thank you to all who attended both meetings and stay tuned for more opportunities to have your voice heard in the development of the OMP.
